About this opportunity

## Technical Tender Intern **Employer:** AltWork Global **Location:** Milnerton, Western Cape **Salary:** From R6 000 per month **Type:** Internship **Work Location:** In person ### About the Role Support the Tender Coordinator across the full bid cycle for a UK-facing group with live pipelines in health, education and youth services, and in property, facilities management and construction. The role brings a real-estate, quantity-surveying or financial-studies background to the technical and commercial side of bids — specifications, method statements, cost and feasibility input — while working inside a structured tender workflow that runs from opportunity identification through to submission and result tracking. You will work to a UK–SA model: drafting and technical preparation sit with the Cape Town team; UK contract leads review for technical accuracy and hold final sign-off on every submission. ### Key Responsibilities **Opportunity Pipeline:** - Run weekly searches across UK procurement portals and regional frameworks; shortlist by contract value, sector fit and eligibility - Prepare go/no-go summaries covering value, deadline, lot structure and eligibility notes for Coordinator and MD review **Technical Bid Content:** - Draft and support technical tender content — specifications, method and quality statements - Provide cost, take-off and feasibility input into submissions - Contribute to social value and pricing narrative sections under direction from the Coordinator or UK leads - Research client, sector and framework requirements, and embed named contract evidence, programme detail and participant data rather than generic bid language **Compliance and Submission:** - Build and maintain the compliance matrix for each bid: mandatory vs optional questions, word counts, formatting rules and document checklists - Manage portal registrations, document uploads and submission logistics to deadline - Format and quality-check submissions, with line-by-line review before sign-off **Knowledge Management and Workflow:** - Maintain the central tender library of accreditations, policies, model answers and standard responses - Log all bid activity in Asana — pipeline tasks, draft status, submission moves and result due dates - File all response documents to the shared drive structure post-submission - Capture scoring feedback and lessons learned into the learning library after each bid cycle ### What We're Looking For - Studying or qualified in real estate, quantity surveying, construction, or finance/business - Strong analytical ability and excellent written English - Solid Excel and document-presentation skills; trained on AI tools from day one - Comfortable using AI for first drafts while applying human verification — checking facts, word counts and relevance rather than accepting output at face value - Methodical, deadline-resilient, and disciplined about version control and document trails - Keen to develop in bid and commercial work ### What You'll Get - Direct exposure to multi-million-pound UK public sector frameworks and private-sector property bids - Structured feedback against a defined tender quality benchmark, with formal scoring on your drafts - AI-augmented working embedded from day one - A defined progression pathway from internship into a permanent role for those who meet the standard **Pay:** From R6 000,00 per month **Education:** Bachelors (Preferred)
